OUR PROFILE: Faculdade CCAA is extremely pleased to host the 13th BRAZ-TESOL Convention in 2012, since our aims are aligned with those of BRAZ-TESOL. It could not be otherwise. We are part of the CCAA group, an enterprise which has been around for half a century and which has revolutionized language teaching through the use of new technologies. From TV sets and VCRs to the latest high-tech equipment, we have always searched for tools which facilitate and enrich the learning process. Our work in the field of education was crowned with the foundation of the college in 2005.
OUR COURSES: Besides teaching degrees in Languages (Portuguese-English and Portuguese-Spanish), Faculdade CCAA also offers undergraduate programs in Administration, Accountancy, Social Communication (Journalism, Multimedia and Publicity and Advertising), and technological undergraduate programs in Digital Games, Internet Systems, Systems Analysis and Development, and Information Technology Management, coordinated by our Information Technology Center. All the careers mentioned have a connection with the history and calling of the CCAA group. We also offer specialization and extension courses in various fields for those who are interested in improving their cultural knowledge and worldview.
OUR SPECIAL FEATURES: In order to improve the learning process, comprehensive theoretical content and actual practice are combined from the beginning. Research groups are formed and ways of achieving excellence in the teaching-learning process are sought. Our infrastructure is in keeping with modern architectural concepts for educational facilities, offering appropriate spaces for practice, such as the Experimental Communication Agency. In addition, there are internships in partner companies and schools and ‘LRDs’ – electronic books with the contents of our lessons. We also work with the well-known technique created in Harvard, the Case Study, and include English teaching in all of our programs. And we are always interested in new projects.
OUR RESPONSIBILITY: To fulfill our role as a higher education institute, we carry out extensive work in social responsibility, including lectures on key current issues, joint campaigns with public bodies, and awareness-raising projects with both the college community and the outside community concerning the need to improve the society in which our endeavours take place.
